To: This Service
From: Mari (NY)
It has been one year since the day I attempted suicide. Honestly, it has been the hardest year of my life. There have been so many good days but also a lot of lows. Without this service, I don’t think I would’ve made it through the year. Knowing that a perfect stranger is there and can help me through the day, that gives me the strength to keep going.

When my estranged 32-year-old son overdosed, his heart was restarted, but not his brain. Susan was with me through the whole journey before his death, and through his death. She was with me when life support was removed. I can never thank her enough for all the love and support she has given me.

You saved me from my darkest time and I can never thank you enough. If I can ever repay you, it would be to bring you out of your own slump you're in and make you as happy as you've made me over the past years I've known you. Thank you again my dude and I love you, truly my best friend for life.

Thank you for being there in the middle of the night to answer the phone when I needed it most. I’m alive and I volunteer for a suicide hotline now because of you - paying it forward. ❤️

First off, thank you for being one of my biggest supporters in my struggle with self-harm and depression. You have been there from the beginning, and are there whenever I need you. You are absolutely amazing and I love you so much. Thank you for all the encouragement, the late night texts, the hospital visits and making the cutest children ever. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you and your children. Thanks for giving me hope.

Thanks for being a sweet, loving, and caring friend. You can be so positive but you are so much more than that, it's too much to explain all of you but you are amazing in all, I love you.
To: Phyllis, Brenda, and Paula
From: Mariah (CT)
I would like to thank my two therapists, Phyllis and Brenda, for giving me endless support while leaving my abusive relationship. Each time I needed it, they reminded me that I deserved to not live in fear. That this was the hard thing to do, but the right thing to do. I want to thank Paula, the sweet police officer who helped me in the process of getting legal documentation to keep my abuser away. She gave me so much strength and support. She said, "Don't look back and make it happy. Accept what it was instead of holding onto the potential."
